American Football has been a band for about 30 years now, but they have a really interesting history. Mike Kinsella, Steve Holmes and the rest of the band first got together when they were in college. They played a handful of shows and recorded one album in that time before breaking up. Years later, the fanbase for the album grew to the point where the band got back together
That first reunion happened 15 years ago, and now American Football have just released their fourth full length album, simply titled: American Football (LP4).
We chat with Mike and Steve about their early years playing music together in high school and how they eventually came to cutting a record. They also tell us what it was like to tour together again after a 15 year hiatus and what eventually happened to the house that they have pictured on the cover of their debut album.
