The Imitation Game

Wow, talk about "contempt prior to investigation'. I hope by now that you've actually seen "The Imitation Game" and discovered that -- contrary to your assumption that the film glosses over Alan Turing's homosexuality -- the film shows head on how he was forced to stay closeted, how the police hounded and persecuted him, how a court sentenced him to chemical castration, and how the drugs and his despair drove him to suicide.

Fair enough, I understand your assumption -- Hollywood has a century of history of ignoring, or mocking, or demonizing LBGT characters. But you had an opportunity to applaud a movie that doesn't do any of those things and you just crapped on it instead.

Racism and Homophobia... Maybe.

Hello, I've found a couple of things from British film critic Mark Kermode you might find interesting One directly relates to your discussion about the whitewashing of the Oscars, the other concernes the marketing in the U.S. of the British film Pride (about LGBT people supporting miner's strikes in the '80s)
