Shorties represent

I listen to a lot of max fun podcasts, wham bam pow being one of my favorites. Thanks to Cameron, Pamplemoose, and Coco Pelado for a kick-ass podcast. I would like to comment on Jesse's diatribe in this episode. In this episode, Jesse relays a story in which jordan, Jesse, go! was kicked off a stage at comic con. He repeats many times that the person who kicks them off was a short woman, oh about 5'3" or 5'4". This is the average height for women in the U.S. I was pretty incensed that Jesse needed to tell us repeatedly that she was short and a woman, and I didn't doubt that Rhea also questioned these details of the story. Who even cares about these details? Jesse, just tell us your stories and leave out unimportant details. What would you have said if a man kicked you off stage? That he was of average height, or maybe a few inches shorter than you? That would seem absurd to mention. I have noticed similar gendered commentary in other podcasts Jesse is a part of, Judge John Hodgman being one. I decided to stop listening to bullseye as a result.
