Hi there!
It’s June now, which means MaxFun has officially been a worker-owned co-op for two years! 🎉🎉🎉 We’ve got a little update on that later on, and two MaxFun shows just started new seasons! But first…

What’s going on this month at MaxFun?

- Over on Bullseye, Jesse Thorn conducted a great interview with Questlove, drummer and bandleader for acclaimed hip-hop band The Roots
- Maximum Film! has joined the cool kids with an official Letterboxd account
- Do you feel like climate change is messing with your mental health? You’re not alone. John Moe and Dr. Caroline Carney explain why on Depresh Mode

The Adventure Zone just started a new season!
Heads up, TAZ fans! The Adventure Zone just started a brand new season, Royale, and it’s already shaping up to be an (eldritch) blast.
Join GM Griffin and players Justin, Travis, and Clint as they accept the challenge of the Royale: sixty-four wizards from all across the land will face their past, present, and future in hopes of being the one wizard to claim the ultimate prize.
Unlike the previous family-friendly season, this show marks a return to a mature format with all the swears, violence, and raunchy jokes that the McElroys have dished out in previous seasons. Plus, the show is returning to an every-other-week schedule, making it easier to catch up if you fall behind! The first episode is out now—and the second will come out this Thursday, so gather your party and jump in!
Listen to Royale ep. 1!
MaxFun celebrates our second anniversary as a worker-owned cooperative!
It’s been two years since we became a co-op! Can you believe it? I can’t! (Like, seriously, how has it already been two years?)
Around this time last year, we released a look at everything we did in our (very, very busy) first year as a co-op! Here are some things that we’ve done since we last did a round-up in December:
- We welcomed new members of our Board of Directors, Richard Robey and Daniel Baruela! And gave a huge, sincere thank you to former directors, K.T. Wiegman and April Pendergraft
- We brought three new shows onto the network: E Pluribus Motto, Reading Smut, and Walkin’ About
- Plus, the Zyxx crew has once again joined forces with MaxFun to create a limited-run prequel series to Mission to Zyxx
- MaxFun brought on a new Production Fellow, Hannah Moroz, who is learning the ropes primarily on Bullseye
- Since becoming a co-op, we’ve held regular meetings with all of the worker-owners to discuss how the co-op is going, plan for the future, and vote for new initiatives. After our longest-ever meeting, we recently passed a new initiative to expand PTO for all full-time employees!
It’s been a wild year, and we’re all excited to see what the next year brings for us!
Thanks for reading! As a treat for getting all the way to the bottom, have a look at two adorable pugs who are such hardcore gamers they had to get in on that Switch 2 as soon as it came out.
(And shout-out to MaxFun worker-owner Danny, who also owns the pugs and that Switch. Don’t tell them. They still think it’s theirs.)
