Episode notes
The TV show The Bear is about working at a restaurant. And if you’ve seen it, you probably know that watching The Bear probably won’t inspire you to work in a restaurant.
It’s about all the ways in which jobs in that industry can consume you almost completely. It’s also about the ways those jobs give meaning to otherwise broken people, and how those same people struggle to find a place for themselves outside of their work.
Molly Gordon joined the cast of The Bear last season. Her character, Claire, doesn’t work in a restaurant. She’s actually a resident in an ER – maybe the only thing that may be more demanding and taxing than working in the restaurant on the show.
The Bear recently released its third season. It’s streaming now on Hulu. Molly Joined us on Bullseye to talk about her experience working on the show. She also shares what it was like growing up with parents who worked in show business and tell us what they taught her about filmmaking.
