We are now in Bonus Days until Monday around noon, where we leave the MFD site up for any latecomers strolling in. Maybe that’s you! So, don’t worry, there’s still time to support your shows and get the MFD gifts.
But right now, I’m writing this email while watching our big MaxFunDrive finale- a relay of 5 different livestreams. By the time I send this, you’ll be able to watch all of the replays!

We hit the streets to sammyboard
In our first MFD newsletter we promised that if we hit a certain milestone, we’d get real serious about marketing. And I think you’ll see in this video that we did exactly that. We hit 8,000 new, boosting, and upgrading members, so our very brave producer and co-op Board member, Richard, donned our handcrafted sammyboard and hit the pavement in LA.
If we get to 12,000 by the end of Bonus Days on Sunday night, I will have to do this in NYC because I am the only staff member here. So, honestly, uh I might need one of you to help me.
We matched 304 people with gift memberships purchased by anonymous MaxFunsters!
See, there is still a lot of good stuff in the world! So many kind souls bought a year’s worth of a $5 membership for a person in the community that they didn’t even know!
304 people chose to spend their hard-earned money, not on themselves, or even someone they know, but on a stranger in their community. That is so generous and so lovely. It is a nice reminder that, numbers aside, our network is held up by a big group of wonderful people taking turns chipping in to make sure the things they love stick around.
We’ll keep matching them as long as people keep buying them and people keep joining the waitlist. And if you signed up for the list, make sure to check your email to see if you’ve been matched. If you get your membership started over the weekend you’ll count towards your show’s goals and the network goal!
