This Giving Tuesday, Maximum Fun is proud to announce that we have donated $5,000 to National CASA/GAL. This donation also marks the start of MaxFun working with National CASA/GAL to provide ongoing support for the organization.
Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) and guardian ad litem (GAL) volunteers make a life-changing difference for children who have experienced abuse or neglect. They advocate for children’s best interests as they navigate the court and foster care systems.
The folks at National CASA/GAL develop and support comprehensive training for caring and compassionate volunteers spread across 950 member programs in the United States. Volunteers are then appointed by a judge to advocate for children to help ensure they’re safe, have a permanent home, and have the opportunity to thrive.
This isn’t the first time we’ve connected with National CASA/GAL. Back in 2019, Maximum Fun donated all of the proceeds from our post-MaxFunDrive pin sale to National CASA/GAL. The feedback we got from our community after that donation was so enthusiastic and supportive, and we learned that many folks in our MaxFun community had been CASA or GAL volunteers themselves! We heard stories about what a life-changing, rewarding experience it was to be a CASA or GAL volunteer. It made us extremely proud to be part of a community that does so much good. In the coming months, we’ll work with National CASA/GAL to share examples of the great work they do to #ChangeAChildsStory, highlight MaxFunsters who’ve been volunteers, and provide fun opportunities to raise funds for this great nonprofit organization
