A wide variety of pins

MaxFunDrive 2024 Pins & Gifts Update!

Posted by C.N. Josephs on 25th April 2024

Thank you again to everyone who supported us this MaxFunDrive and all throughout the years! Because of your ongoing support, the network and the shows will be able to plan for the year knowing we’ll have consistent contributions coming in. This means so much to all of the hosts, staff, and worker-owners at Maximum Fun. Now, a few weeks after the end of MaxFunDrive 2024, we’ve got an exciting update for all of you:

MaxFunDrive gifts and charity sale pins are in production!

Here’s a quick primer on some things you might be wondering about—then, if you’re interested to learn more about how our gift ordering process works and why it takes a few months, keep reading below the line.

We estimate that gifts will begin shipping around late June.

Gifts get rolled out over time from our fulfillment center in California, so some folks will get theirs earlier than others depending on where they are in the shipment timeline and where they live.

Purchased pins ship separately.

Pins purchased in our charity sale will run on a similar timeline, but will be shipping separately from gifts out of a different fulfillment center in Massachusetts. You will most likely receive your purchased pins before your gift shipment.

Next step: Verify your address is correct.

Once our gifts are manufactured (probably around early June), we’ll send you another email where you can double-check your address and update it if you need to. You can always check and update your information by going to maximumfun.org/manage and following the instructions there.

If you have any questions, please email membership@maximumfun.org so we can help!

Why don’t gifts ship immediately after the drive ends?

Because all of our MaxFunDrive gifts are made-to-order, our manufacturers can’t start production until after the drive and charity sale are over and we’ve tallied up how many of each gift we need—otherwise, we’d have to guess what quantity to order, and our guesses could be wrong!

We work with a few different manufacturers every year; for example, in 2024, our enamel pins, checker/chess pieces, bandanas, and bags were all produced by different companies. After we place our orders, each of those companies needs to produce the item(s) we’re ordering from them, and then all of those items need to be sent to our fulfillment center in California. This means that it can take several weeks after we place the order for all of the gifts to be ready to ship out—but we think it’s worth the wait to have cool, custom gifts!

Once the gifts all reach the fulfillment center, they get packed up according to what each member is getting and what pin they chose. The pins from the charity sale go through a separate (but similar) process at a different fulfillment center—which is why you might get your pins from the charity sale a little earlier than you get the rest of your gifts. After the packages are packed and labelled, they get shipped to our members all across the world!
