I spent the day yesterday in San Francisco, meeting with Kasper Hauser to write some pledge promos. Last night I spent at my mom’s house, where I decided to stay up and watch a bit of SNL — Hugh Laurie was hosting, and while I’m not a House fan, I have been a bit obsessed with Jeeves & Wooster lately.
I think the set Kanye performed with was the most remarkable I’ve ever seen on SNL. I like “Love Lockdown” a lot, though it doesn’t really gain much from live performance… but that set is amazing and beautiful and mesmerizing.
Also: my favorite sketch of the night, the wedding toasts (I went to be after Kanye’s first song, so I probably missed some). Laurie demonstrates how fantastically hilarious he can be in this one (and much of the rest of the cast stretch their wings a bit, too). Sidenote: Fred Armisen is so wonderful.
