This marks the tenth year that Maximum Fun has closed out our fundraising drive, MaxFunDrive, with a big sale where members can buy as many $10 level gifts as their hearts desire. We donate the proceeds each year to a charity we believe in. Since we started, MaxFunsters have raised around $675,000 for fourteen different nonprofits!
In 2026, things are bad. We don’t need to go into all the reasons, we don’t need to dwell on all the ways, but we know they’re bad. We at MaxFun, and I’m sure all of you reading, have been trying to figure out how to make them better.
So, this year we chose The Center for Constitutional Rights and raised $21,789 to support their ongoing efforts to protect the inalienable rights of every human being, regardless of citizenship.
The Center for Constitutional Rights champions the rights of the people, inside and outside of the courtroom. They push back against government surveillance; challenge abusive immigration policy; fight the systems of mass incarceration; and hold the line against the government’s ongoing attempts to criminalize dissent. They fight for the oppressed across all axes of race, religion, sex, and sexuality. The Center has been behind countless legislative successes, many of which established major legal precedents.
It can be disheartening to realize that we have to work so hard to achieve a freer and fairer tomorrow. But today, we were able to do something good together.
