Get the word out about your small business on E Pluribus Motto!

Do you have a small, local business in the United States? Want to get the word out about your company AND get featured on a podcast all about your state?

Well, great news: we’re selling Bulletin Board messages on the podcast E Pluribus Motto, read by hosts Janet Varney and John Hodgman. Bulletin Board messages are $250 and there are only two spots available per state, so secure your spot before they sell out!

What It Is

The E Pluribus Motto Bulletin Board program is an informal and inexpensive way for small local businesses to sponsor an episode of a E Pluribus Motto. These are one-off messages that we offer to our community at an inexpensive rate. In other words, a message can only run once. You’ll provide a couple of lines of basic info, and you’ll get a mention on an upcoming episode of E Pluribus Motto that features the state your business is in.

What It Isn’t

Bulletin Board messages aren’t intended for ongoing advertising campaigns or for large companies that operate in many states, and the audio can not be used outside of the episodes they are aired in.  If you’re interested in sponsoring E Pluribus Motto on an ongoing or more frequent basis, you want to see listener data, you want to sponsor more than one episode, or your business doesn’t fit the parameters of the Bulletin Board messages, we’d be happy to discuss advertising rates! Please contact david@maximumfun.org for more information about advertising.

If you aren’t sure if your message would qualify for a Bulletin Board message or if it’s better suited for advertising, please email kira@maximumfun.org.

Scheduling

Messages will be scheduled in the episode that features the state your business is located in. We only have room for two spots per state, so if you don’t see your state listed, that means the spots have sold out.

By The Way

It may not come up, but we reserve the right to not run a message. There are a few reasons this might happen – and undoubtedly some that we haven’t thought of yet – but here are some things that cause issues:

  • if we find a message questionable or offensive, or if the hosts do not feel comfortable reading the message;
  • if the project or product in a promotional message resembles a current sponsor of the show;
  • if the message endorses a specific political party or candidate – even if the politics align with ours.

A note on this last point: if your company is advocating for a cause (such as civil rights or human rights) that has taken on a political dimension, we will consider these on a case-by-case basis. We reserve the right to reject advocacy for causes that we don’t believe in, but we also have to acknowledge that activism and policy work is complicated, and we don’t have the capacity to vet every organization that we’re presented with. Consequently, in cases where we see any possibility of complications, we’ll tend to reject the message. We also acknowledge that even this cautious approach can let something objectionable slip by, because there’s only so much research we can do.

In all cases where we choose not to run your message, we will refund you in full.
