Biography

Ashe graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University, majoring in theatre with a focus on playwrighting. To absolutely everyone’s surprise, immediately after graduation they went on a whirlwind, cross-country poetry tour. They were brought on as a senior editor at the magazine Persephone’s Daughters and they published a few books, one of which was nominated for a 2015 Pushcart Prize. After spending a couple of years as a career poet, they decided that the drifter lifestyle wasn’t for them and that they weren’t spending nearly enough time at home with their cats. In a career full of left turns, their pivot to podcasting made nothing but perfect sense.

Ashe can be found doing anything and everything crafty—from sculpting teeth for mimic dice boxes to casting resin tiles for handmade Settlers of Catan boards. Sculpting, drawing, and papercrafts are their favorite mediums to play in, and they will find any opportunity to trap you in a never-ending slideshow of their art projects.

Ashe Vernon is too small and too loud but mostly just tired.
