Biography
Annabelle Gurwitch is the New York Times bestselling author of five books, including I See You Made an Effort (Thurber Prize finalist), and was the co-host of Dinner and a Movie on TBS. Her essays appear in The New Yorker, WSJ, The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, and she was a regular commentator on NPR. Gurwitch is a proud Jewish mother of a gender queer kid, a reluctant atheist, and a cat lover. Kirkus Reviews describes her new book You’re Leaving When? Adventures in Downward Mobility (March 2021) as “Erma Bombeck meets Dorothy Parker [in this] laugh out-loud funny take on modern malaise,” full of “witty asides” and “wonderfully droll” cultural commentary.
