Announcing Co-Optober! Plus, new BoCo!

Posted by C.N. Josephs on 20th September 2023

Hello!

We’ve got an exciting announcement about a big event, lots of great Bonus Content, and some upcoming live shows!

Announcing Co-Optober!

Since 1964, October has been National Co-op Month in the U.S. We’re putting our own spin on the tradition with Co-Optober: a month long celebration of cooperatives!

Throughout October, we’ll be featuring some co-ops that are doing great things for their worker-owners and their communities. We’ll be posting write-ups of interviews with creative co-ops, answering your questions, hosting events in person and online, and sharing insights from the worker-owners at Maximum Fun.

We’ll also have some really cool limited-edition merch available exclusively to our members during Co-Optober, featuring great designs by Tom Deja and Geoff Tice! Becoming a co-op is an incredibly exciting step for us, but it’s also involved a ton of work, as well as a lot of one-time expenses. Supporting MaxFun through membershipsone-time contributions, and buying our upcoming limited-edition merch is a great way to help our co-op get off the ground!

Co-Optober events coming soon!

We’ll be announcing more good stuff later, but there are two big things you might want to get on your calendar now:

October 12: MaxFun Meetup Day

We’re bringing our favorite MaxFunDrive tradition to October! On Meetup Day, MaxFun fans all around the world get together with local MaxFunsters to hang out, talk about podcasts, and make new friends. If you’re interested in hosting a meetup and want some tips, check out our Meetup Day kit—and make sure to email cn@maximumfun.org so we can add it to our list!

October 23-29: Volunteer Week

A bunch of MaxFun HQ staff are going to be volunteering together at our local food bank and we encourage you to do the same! It’s a really nice way to help your community and spend time with friends. If you’re not sure how to set something like that up, check out this handy volunteer guide.

New Bonus Content!

Members get a bunch of new bonus content during MaxFunDrive—but did you know that bonus content gets added throughout the year, too?

You can find it now in your Bonus Content feed, along with the two previous installments of this audio treat and a slew of amazing bonus content from a bunch of our other shows. (Note: if you’ve customized your BoCo feed, you’ll need to add “MaxFun Network Content” for it to show up!)
